WALKER DESIGN STUDIOS BESPOKE PROCESS
Our firm believes that the process of procuring custom bespoke goods should not be stressful or intimidating. We guide our clients through the commission process by providing services which allow you to make informed decisions about your piece.
- CONCEPTUALIZATION - We kick off the bespoke process with an in-depth analysis of your needs, and the project scope of work. We can meet with you onsite to conduct an analysis of your space to understand the contextual elements and the space parameters. Here we review your project budget and timeline. We will then prepare preliminary sketches and make suggestions on material and finishes.
- DESIGN DEVELOPMENT - In the design development stage, we will further define the project scope. Project drawings are developed in plan, elevation, section, and 3D and are issued to you for sign off prior to fabrication. A formal submittal review is conducted where we will provide you with wood samples, fabric swatches, hardware cut sheets, and a finish schedule. Upon completion of the submittal review, control samples are provided for your records. A project schedule inclusive of procurement, fabrication lead time and in-space delivery are provided.
- FABRICATION AND DELIVERY - We commence with fabrication of your goods once the design development phase is complete. A 50% deposit is now payable. We will keep you informed of the progress of your project through project meetings. Upon completion of fabrication, we will contact you to schedule white glove delivery to your space. Prior to white glove delivery, the balance of payment is due.
